IP Blocking
What is IP blocking and what does it mean for website visitors? When is it useful?
One of the most reliable ways to limit the access to your Internet site is to block the IP addresses of those which should not be able to open it. There are several reasons to do this. As an example, you may want a particular person not to be able to see your site, or you may limit the access for an entire nation. You could also block IP addresses if you notice that there are lots of web browser requests from them, if many spam comments are left within your Internet sites or if a script login page has been loaded a large number of times. In all of these scenarios, the traffic is most probably fake and has been created by an automatic bot, so you could safely block any suspicious IP address, to be on the safe side. This way, you will also prevent the chance of your server getting overloaded by too many fake requests.
IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting
Our cloud services include an IP blocking tool, so in case you'd like to limit the access to your sites, you'll be able to do this with simply a couple of clicks. The tool is included with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all accounts and that's very simple to use. As you log in and visit the IP blocking section, you will just need to choose a domain or a subdomain hosted inside the account and type in the IP address which needs to be blocked. Our system enables you to block entire networks too, so if you type in 123.123.123., for instance, this will block all IP addresses between 123.123.123.1 and 123.123.123.255 from accessing your websites. In case you would like to whitelist an IP at some point, you can unblock it with a mouse click from the same section.
